Trim Levels (Exterior)
The exterior of the Forte is sleek and stylish, but you'll need to consider its trim levels to ensure that you're getting the exterior features you want. The base level is the LX, and it already comes with auto on/off headlights, LED perimeter lighting, and 15-inch steel wheels. If that's not enough, you may want to upgrade to the LXS, where you'll find 16-inch alloy wheels and side mirrors with integrated turn signals. For something a bit sportier, start your search at the GT-Line trim level. This edition of the Forte offers LED fog lights and a trunk spoiler complemented by 17-inch alloy wheels. The GT trim, on the other hand, has 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels and LED headlights with automatic high beams. Finally, the GT Manual trim boasts special summer tires standard along with a power sunroof.
Engine (Power)
Two engine options are available with the new Forte, and they both have plenty of power. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter inline-four that offers 147 horsepower with 132 pound-feet of torque. If that's not enough, you may be interested in the GT's 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four engine and its incredible 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. This more powerful engine also gives you the choice between a seven-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
Performance
The Forte was designed from the ground up with performance in mind, but the GT model truly takes it to the next level. It comes standard with wheel-mounted paddle shifters even if you opt for the automatic transmission, letting you take direct control if you like. It also features a sport-tuned suspension, though the suspension on the standard Forte is still smooth and offers a relaxing ride on your next adventure.
Interior
Inside the Forte, you'll find a host of interior features you may not want to miss out on, including a generous amount of space for cargo and passengers. It has impressive rear legroom, so your rear passengers will certainly appreciate the space. In terms of cargo, the trunk has a volume of 15.3 cubic feet, which is enough for several suitcases and more.
Safety Features
The new Forte is a great family car with the suite of safety features available. It includes an advanced forward collision avoidance system that can detect not only other vehicles but pedestrians and cyclists too. Blind-spot collision avoidance and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance are available too. The Forte can also be outfitted with a smart cruise control system with stop-and-go capabilities and highway driving assist.
